Learn about Mint Condition process
Mint Condition product manufacturing process are split into two main channels:
First channel - Creating entirely new textiles from used fabrics
We rescue our fabrics just before they reach the point of no return. We're fortunate to partner with a network of second-hand stores that hold onto these materials for us, rather than sending them on to their likely destinies as landfill waste or rags (which also someday end up in landfills). We then meticulously select the fabrics we work with, assessing their condition, color, weave, and other characteristics. Only those in prime condition are chosen, forming the foundation of our creations.
After washing the fabrics, we cut and sew them together to be a whole new product. The final products are limited in quantity, depending on the amount of available material we have in hand.
With the design influenced by the material itself, these fabrics are transformed into entirely new Mint Condition products.
Second channel - Working with recycled yarns
The second channel which Mint Condition works in is - designing and creating knitted products made from recycled yarns which spun from recycled cotton fibers and post-consumer PET bottles.
